WHAT TO EXPECT

DODGE Ski Boots are different from others.  They will feel different on your feet in the shop.  They will feel different on the hill.  And they will perform differently.  Here are a few things you might expect.

In the store
Putting on the DODGE will feel different from putting on a "plug" boot.  The patent-pending, easy-entry design makes it far easier to slide your foot into the boot, whether you put your liner on your foot before you enter the boot or slide the boot on with the liner already in place.  There is no need to struggle with spreading the lower flaps.  Just hold the upperflaps, point your toe into the opening and let your heel follow the heel canal.  Then, pull up on the liner to help seat your heel  in the heel pocket.  No need slam your heel on the floor.

Once your foot is in the boot, buckle it loosely.  Over tightening the buckles doesn't do anything except make your foot uncomfortable.

Stand up and flex the boot to ensure your foot is properly positioned and buckle to comfort.  You will feel the boot is far stiffer than your old "rubber" boots.  Don't worry!  Your old boots get stiffer as the temperature drops, but the composites used in the DODGE are designed to have the same stiffness whether it's 75 degrees or minus 10 degrees.  That means a DODGE won't stiffen up when you go outside.

On the hill

While you might be expecting some miracle, it's possible you will be underwhelmed when you first ski on the DODGE.  Don't fret!  Take a couple of acclimating free-skiing runs.  Then try some runs in a race course, building up your speed and finding the limits.

Want to find out how big a difference the DODGE made in your skiing?  Put your old boots on and run the same course.  If you're like any of the high-level racers we've had testing the boot, you'll find the "Wow!" factor after you go back to an old-style, rubber boot.
